The Complete Survivor

This course goes beyond mere survival and delves into the long-term skills of "living off the land" where we focus on trapping & food procurement. This is an immersion course held on private land where you can realistically apply your skills. You will walk away with the basics of both modern and primitive methods for feeding yourself in the wilds or providing for your family during the lean times.

Common edible plants: ID and gathering wild plants for use in salads, making flours and breads, and augmenting your meals at home.
Practical animal tracking: ID, reading the stories in tracks and how to apply these skills for hunting and trapping.
Deadfalls and Snares: carving figure-4 and Paiute deadfalls, tips for trap placement, using lures & baits, and how to set an effective snare.
Game preparation: how to skin and clean wild game and fish along with a variety of campfire cooking methods for serving up hearty meals.
Emergency food supplies: a look at what basic staples to have on hand at home and long-term food storage considerations.
Making jerky: you won’t believe how easy this is. Learn to make delicious tasting jerky using wild game as well as store-bought beef.

We will also discuss relevant hunting gear such as modern small-game rifles, slingshots, survival fishing gear, and more.

This class is held in accordance with Arizona State Game and Fish Laws and participants will need to obtain a valid Arizona hunting license. Contact us for more information.

Hiking is minimal and we will be based at one camp so participants can bring any gear they need to be comfortable such as a tent, sleeping bag, etc… In addition to any wild foods procured, two meals a day are provided during the course.

This is given as a 4 Day Course.
