In this traveling fieldcourse, we will camp out in a variety of different environments that allow us to forage for wild edible plants, practice modern and primitive fishing methods, and cover the fundamentals of feeding yourself in the natural world equipped with only a few items. We will camp out along the way, so you may bring any gear (tent, sleeping bag, etc...) that you need to be comfortable. Like all of our programs, this course is entirely hands-on and will provide you with practical skills for procuring wild foods. We will also cover cleaning fish and wild game, firemaking skills, primitive hunting implements, and cooking methods. An Arizona Fishing License is required (students can obtain these on the first day of class). If you want to learn how to be a modern hunter-gatherer then this is the course. |
