Instructional DVD Series
Tony Nester's Practical Urban
Survival Series, Volumes 1 & 2 |
|
|
|
 |
|
Over the years, we have had many
students in our survival classes inquire about supportive
material they can reference to further augment what we cover
in our classes or to show other family members. This
2-volume instructional DVD series, is produced by Tony
Nester. It covers the skills, strategies, and essential gear
to have in place to provide to help you handle an urban
crisis at home, work, or on the road.
The methods and skills shown in
both DVDs flow in a logical order and cover how to prepare
for both short emergencies ranging from 1-3 days to a
long-term grid-down situation lasting several months or
longer. As with Tony's survival books, the material is
delivered in a straightforward, no-frills fashion so you
walk away from each DVD with solid information that can be
immediately applied.

S.O.S Food
Rations
These are the best-tasting rations
we have found and we even use them
on our fieldcourses. They are
designed to sustain life until
rescue or additional food is
available. I’ve found that I can
live off these for about 2.5 days
while on the move and then my body
is screaming for a burger. Survival
rations are intended to carry you
through a short-term crisis such as
an urban disaster and these rations
make an excellent addition to a
Bail-Out Kit. In fact, we include
these in our commercial Bail-Out
Kits. The baked, fortified food bars
taste like shortbread, in my
opinion, are easily digestible and,
most importantly, does not increase
thirst. They may be safely stored up
to 5 years under all climatic
conditions - ranging from desert to
arctic. The bars are ready to go
without preparation and can be eaten
straight up or pounded up and mixed
into a porridge.
One 3600
calorie package contains 9
individually wrapped servings (400
calories each). |

"Traps and
Trapping"
DVD with Ron Hood |
| |
|
Trapping
is an absolutely essential skill for
those interested in self-reliance
and long-term wilderness living.
Having seen many of the
instructional DVDs on the market
today, we can honestly say that this
is the best out there on procuring
wild game with primitive and modern
traps.
Veteran
survival instructor Ron Hood covers
trapping ethics, deadfalls, snares,
twitchups, deer snares, and bird
traps. In addition, he throws in
some excellent tips on hand fishing,
tracking, and more.
As
Ron says, "If you can't feed
yourself after watching this
video... you need a supermarket!" |

Swedish Mora Knife
Most of the knife-work you do in the wilderness is of a fine
nature - carving firemaking tools,
traps, bows, or camp utensils, hence a good carving knife is what you will use the majority of
the time. An ax will take care of the heavy-duty jobs. We have found the Swedish Mora knife to
be a blade that holds an edge like no other. These blades are high-carbon steel (good for Flint
& Steel firemaking), have a comfy rubber handle (handle
color may vary), and come with their own sheath.
Cost: $20.00 per
blade plus $4.95 s/h
