Graduates of our fieldcourses are eligible for the Advanced Survival Trek. Operating as a group, students navigate each day to a new location and finding shelter and water along the way while relying solely on their survival-kit (included in the cost of the course). Any wild food that is foraged is done so with regards to conservation laws. For safety purposes and supplemental teaching, instructors will monitor students from a distance and be camped nearby. Map reading and compass skills are needed and a refresher of basic survival and navigation skills will be provided on the first morning. Mileage will vary from 2-4 miles per day. Survival Kit components consists of a spark-rod, heat-sheet, 550 cord, water purification tabs, whistle, SOS rations, compass & canteen cup. Participants will need to provide their own knife and two 1-liter water bottles. As with all of our courses, a complete info packet is sent upon registration.
