In winter, we often have a braintanning camp at our high-desert basecamp north of Flagstaff complete with two heated hogans and a tipi for warming up in and working on hides. We will cover all aspects of wet-scrape tanning, smoking, etc… as well as have a racked out hide for showing the process for dry-scraping. If you’ve ever wanted to learn the ancient art of making buckskin from deer or elk hides, then come join us for this informal get together.
A communal fire and kitchen area is available for cooking (bring your own food though) and plenty of water will be on site.
This is given as a 3 Day Course.
Check the course calendar for specific dates.
